New Lunch Menu: Available Now

We’re excited to announce the launch of our new lunch menu. Don’t ruffle your feathers with expensive daytime dining – our $12 lunch specials are the perfect way to indulge without turning out your pockets.

Dishes to treat your beak to include our fan-favourite karaage chicken, served with wasabi mayo and miso soup, bincho grilled chicken skewers with rice, or a Bird’s Nest tare-infused katsu curry. Family members with a sweet tooth can add dessert to their meal for just $5, with a choice of yuzu sorbet, hojicha ice cream or black sesame panna cotta.

Bird’s Nest takes flight for the Fish Lane Festival

For one day only, on Saturday 7 May, the Bird’s Nest team will be flying the coop and making their way over to Fish Lane, for a celebration of South Brisbane’s most iconic laneway.

Taking place from midday to 10pm, the Fish Lane Festival will bring together the best of South Brisbane’s music, food and drink community – so of course you’ll find Marie and Emie there repping for Bird’s Nest!

Head down to the festivities to find the team in the laneway and you’ll be able to get your hands on our crispy chicken karaage, chicken tenderloin skewers with wasabi mayo and chicken heart skewers. Enjoy the nibbles while you take in the live music, grab a drink from one of the pop-ups and even sample some treats from Gelato Messina.

Fish Lane Festival is a free entry event for all ages, so bring your whole flock along for a delicious day out, and be sure to say hi to Bird’s Nest while you’re there!

Back by popular demand, Australia’s premier sake aficionado Rey Takahashi, is returning to Bird’s Nest to tickle the taste buds of Brisbane’s sake lovers with four exclusive tasting workshops.  Following on from the success of our last sold out event, we’re inviting you to gather around our table as Rey guides us through an exquisite selection of boutique Japanese spirits accompanied by delicious nibbles from the Bird’s Nest kitchen.

Sake Masterclass Brisbane

Rey Takahashi

Drawing on his Japanese roots, Australian born Rey is the son of restaurateur turned business man Saka Takahashi, the brains behind the wildly successful Sakenet Australia. During his time abroad in China, Rey studied a broad range of interests including Kung Fu and Capoeira, but it was his passion for sake that led him to pursue a career as a Kura-Bito (sake maker).

For six months he honed his skills and passion at Hiokizakura before returning to Australian shores to share his wealth of knowledge. Happily installed in the family business, Rey now travels around the country educating a lucky few on the spirit that has become his life’s work.

For $59pp, put your palate to the test and indulge in a selection of rare and imported sakes paired with some delicious nibbles from the Bird’s Nest kitchen.
