“My family and I stopped in Brisbane for the sole purpose of eating at the Bird’s Nest and were not dissapointed. We made reservations for a Sunday night, maybe not necessary but we wanted to ensure a table. From start to finish, everything and everyone was amazing. Service was attentive without being pushy or bothersome. The food was every bit of amazing. We ordered lots of things so we could share and all have a taste, WOW! Do not skip on desert either. The black sesame pannacota was to die for!! We would and probably will travel back to Brisbane just to eat at the Bird’s Nest, it’s that good!”

“My friend & I went for dinner on a super busy Tuesday, and the 20 minute wait was well worth it! Seated at the bar, we ordered the 7 mixed skewers as well as liver, hearts and arteries with sesame panna cotta for dessert.

“First time visit. Thoroughly impressed. Great, simple, flavoursome food. Enough choice even though the lunch menu is limited. Attentive service, even though the restaurant was busy. It was like they had x ray vision. Great drinks too. Try the cocktails. And reasonably priced. I had the hot dog, and it was soooooo good. She had one of the Karaages, and the rice was great. We’ll be back for dinner. Highly recommended.”

“We were very happy to visit Bird’s Nest whilst holidaying in Queensland as we followed Emi and Marie’s journey throughout the Hot Plate series last year. Was even happier to see Marie in person (not on TV!), bustling around, greeting and serving customers. Her bubbly personality brings so much positive energy in her cosy little restaurant.
We ordered a 7 skewer set with a few different sides, and kept adding more skewers, because the food was really delicious.
I’ve got to say, Bird’s Nest’s yakitoris are very yummy. The flavours are just perfect. We were seated right in front of the kitchen and had the privilege to see how the chefs cooked the yakitoris to perfection prior to serving to customers.
All staff are very efficient and know exactly what their roles are. They didn’t ‘t keep customers waiting. Very impressed with their service and efficiency, most importantly, their delicious food. Will certainly visit again. Thumbs up to Bird’s Nest, keep up the good work!”

“The owners of this restaurant became well known when they appeared on the Australian TV show, ‘The Hot Plate’ and won!
The restaurant design is nothing short of delightful and the attention to design detail is a credit to Marie and Emi.
We tried the yakitori lunch menu special and it was cooked to perfection. Wow, the fusion of flavours!
The menu is compact, and that is probably a good thing. But what they sell, they do well. There is a very Japanese beer, spirit list and a reasonable selection of wine.
All staff work so well together, resulting in typical superb Japanese service.
A big thank you to all the team at Bird’s Nest. Can’t wait to come back again.”
